Naxal Strikes Again

By Abhay Singh Thapa

On May 17th Naxals claimed more than forty lives in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh by blowing up a bus. In the attack several special officers (SPOs) were also killed. They had planted improvised explosive device (IED) on the metal led road and it was detonated by the left wing extremist s using remote control device. They had blown up the bus which was carrying passengers from Gadirs to Bhusars in Dantewada. The attack came a day before the Maoists called a 48 hrs bandh in five states including Chhattisgarh. They were about to go on protest against the ongoing security operation carried by the central government against them.

This is the second attack over a month when naxals have killed innocent people again. The country was recovering from the previous brutal attack of the naxals in which they killed 76 CRPF personals. The naxals are sending loud and clearly message to the UPA government that by force they cannot subdue them and the government has to adopt a new strategic in order to tackle this problem.
